What is a Guardian Home?

A guardian home is a family who is willing to keep a dog intact for use in Roemer's Standard Poodles breeding program.  We pay for all breeding related heath testing, and you get a Standard Poodle puppy or adult free of charge to be a part of your family for the life of the dog.  You will be resposible for veterinary expenses, feeding and grooming of this dog.

Each female dog will be used for 1-4 litters depending on the health, quality and results of breeding related testings.

After the breedings have been completed, the said dog does not pass its health clearances or if dog is not found to be breeding quality the dog will be spayed/neutred and will be your forever family pet, free of charge.

Breeding female dogs will come to us for breeding, pre-whelping, whelping and the raising of the litter of puppies- she will then be returned to your family.  Approximately 10-11 weeks per breeding.

Breeding male dogs will only need to be returned to us when needed for breeding purposes.

We will want to stay in contact with all Guardian Homes and will want to see the dogs in the program as much as possible to be comfortable in our home and with us when it does come time for whelping/breeding.

Guardian homes must be within driving distance to Wabasha, MN (prefer a 3 hr range one way) and be willing to bring said dog to our property at any time in Wabasha, MN.

I am willing to groom for Guardian families as well at no additional charge.

I am also willing to board Guardian families dogs as well if we are available to do so for vacations etc.

If we do not have a dog/puppy available at said time we can get paperwork filled out and placed on a Guardian Home wait list.
